i have a 95 2.2 and its been overheating
its fine unless i get on it heavy to pass of something like that then the temp gauge creeps up and luke warm air comes out of the vents when i open them all the way on high...
its happpened before and we thought it was the themrostat but this is the 3rd one in 6 months ... im pretty annoyed .. im getting another in the morning and trying again but any info would be appreciated

air in the system? And are you buying proper subaru dealership thermostats? Don't use the autostore junk in your car, not even napa has the right one. Most likely when you've replaced the thermostats, you haven't bled/burped the air out of the system, which then gets you a pocket of air in the system.

ive been using the car quest replacements but my parents use the same ones in their 99 legacies too...
the other thing i was thinking was water pump? but i already have a new one .
we also redid the headgaskets but i used the stock head bolts.. could that be a prob?

the head bolts.. people will say they dont need to be replaced because most dealers dont replace them ( i say because the dont want to spend the time to strech the bolt right) but then they are streching bolts (even the dealer says they are). but it shouldnt be that.. pressure test the system and see if you have any leaks

well i replaced the thermistat and it seems to be doing fine again so im not sure maybe i just got a bad batch of em or something
