Bumper difference help help

Ok as some of you know I have the 1997 Legacy GT, and the bumper for the GT already has this one piece lip on the bottom of the bumper * picture below* this is NOT the Japan Kouki front bumper.

I see that the Kouki front bumper real jdm version is EXACTLY the same * Picture below* picture from ebay

Now I bought the front TRUST lip from Taka Kaira that fits the BG5 96-98. I tried to test fit it to my Legacy GT bumper and guess what the LIP is short? Now what Im wondering is the BG5 bumper shorter or what?

Look closely at the fog light openings...

It kinda looks bigger on the Kouki. But is the bumper itself shorter in width? Maybe the lip is for the Kouki ... Im so screwed

Cut the lip in half and extend it.

I guess thats the cheapest way to do it. Just hope the lip doesnt show that its re atttached after.

The JDM bumper is different... the fog light openings are bigger and the area where the lip wraps around is shorter in depth by a little bit, maybe a 3/4" to 1", which is why I mentioned to you that there are no lips made for the USDM GT bumper. The lip you bought is for the JDM bumper. If you want the JDM bumper, Phil @ JDM Place has one coming in from Japan.

Chris thanks for the help really appreciate the heads up. So I assume the bumper that phil from JDMP has coming is the Kouki front bumper?
