Steering rack bushings size? 25mm or 30mm?

I thought this was answered somewhere in a post but I never came up with a definite answer when i was searching.

Im going to order some Whiteline steering rack bushings but the salesman says he needs to know if its the 25mm kit or the 30mm kit.

How can i tell which ones i need to get?

it should be the 25mm kit the only ones i know that take 30mm are some wrx and sti

i also need a set of steering rack bushings... mine are swollen as hell from all the oil thats been under the car.

could you post a pic of what they look like...i was looking for something that went on the steering rack but was told they were boots

use the 30mm one. Part KRS202 All LHD subarus (save for the cars using the 2.5l turbo motor, which uses a different kind of mount for the rack).

The only cars that use the 25mm one are RHD cars.

that odd because under most parts app they say 25mm for the LHD 95-99 legacy

Best way to make sure is to go under the car and measure the passenger side bracket.

Dan already said it was 30 on his 97 though. GC RS's use the 30mm as well, and pretty much all the LHD NA subarus have the same steering rack and subframe so I don't think that listing is right.

just talked to whiteline. ok alright its 30mm for LHD and 25mm for RHD. i guess a lot of places have the wrong part apps listed. :shock:

Ok well I am pretty sure that there was a more recent (within the last 2 weeks) thread about this that I commented on but I can no longer find it.

I have a 1999 Legacy 2.2L and ordered the 30mm whiteline bushings.

Drivers side looks like this:

I havent noticed any issues so far but it certainly doesnt look right. I am wondering if the Drivers side is the same between the 25mm and 30mm kit but the passenger side is different.

Anyone know?

I could use the correct answer to this as well. Hopefully someone chimes in that can help.

Well I just got off the phone with Whiteline US Tech Support and he confirmed that it is NOT 30mm for LHD and 25mm for RHD.

He said that nearly all PRE 2002 subaru's use the 25mm bushing kit. This includes 93-01 impreza, 90-99 legacy's.

The good news is that he said if the seller I bought them from refuses to do anything about it, to call them back and they should be able to help me out.

my 98 looked the same, i questioned it initially too, but ultimately it doesn't really bother me and it probably still looks like that.
