View Full Version : Amps
So I was thinking that since a little less than half of the year I will be toting around a few snowboards in the back of my wagon that it would be safe to go with a marine amp made for boats because they are semi-waterproof. They can't be any different from an amp that would be used in a car right?

just build a box that houses the amp. make sure the "house" is vented, possibly force cooled with a cpu cooling fan.

As liquid said, just build a vented enclosure for the amps to keep the water off of them. It just takes a little time and will keep you from getting into a pretty limited market with the marine amps.

In my BE legacy i only have a ski hatch and i have the amp mounted on the right and the sub on the left, very close to that hatch. i simply throw in a bathroom towel over my amp for the duration of the trip and never had a problem, no fires, no melting, no short-circuit.
