Hey!
I bought a set of BE HID lights from Silent racer and installed them myself. i'll doublecheck but it consisted of 3 wires per light, i merged to the stock wiring of the car and everything is fine, didn't have an issue of overheating or CarBQ or something like that.
i'm at work but i will open up the hood and take pictures of how i merged the harnesses.

ok. so i got them in the car. the lights work, but the brights are on all the time. did i hook up the wrong wires? this is what i did.
1. RED / blue (need to be connect to JDM RED and Yellow, yes, you heard me right)
2. Yellow / blue (JDM GREEN)
3. RED (No use)
Please ground JDM black to any grounding point
For passenger side
1. BLUE / white (need to be connect to JDM RED and Yellow, yes, you heard me right)
2. Yellow (JDM GREEN)
3. RED (No use)

I'm going to have to check and see how mine are wired, my red USDM wire IS hooked up on mine, it couldn't be made to work without it.

There's two plugs to the DRL unit. Make sure you disconnected the right one.
Other than that, get a voltmeter and test out the wires. Subaru uses a ground-switch system. You may have grounded the highbeam permanently - it needs to go back to the harness so it can be switched. The low beam is the only one that should be grounded straight to chassis.

Here's a diagram I made to help install mine. This is for the driver's side. Just repeat for the passenger. Can't remeber the colors for the passenger though. I used my stock headlight plug and connected it to the JDM wiring. makes it easy to remove and install if needed.
