What sealent to use for valve cover gaskets?

Ill be doing my valve cover gaskets soon since my engine is leaking oil there and i know that liquid sealent needs to be used on the 'half moons' ... fujibond, which is what subaru uses, costs $40 a tube, so im wondering if there is a cheaper sealent i can get that will do the job. i hear hondabond is good too?? or if any of you guys can hook me up with some fujibond for less than $40, thatd be best :grin: . i only need a tiny bit to do the valve cover gaskets n thats all

errr...for the VCG I didn't use any sealant. I didn't think this was ncessary. Just replacing the gaskets solved all my leaking issues,

The only time you would need a sealant is if you have sharp corners. The valve cover on the legacy isn't crazy shaped like some other cars.

I used Permatex Gray on the "half moons" and in the area by the cam seals... no leaks!

^yeah any permatex thats a gasket maker and can handle a good amount of heat will work just as good as anything

Black RTV will handle the heat, I used it on my exhaust to stop a leak till I replace it and it's been fine for a week now.
