Just bought a 2001 Legacy GT last friday, dont have my license yet but get it in a week so its not too bad. Just wondering what most of you guys do first, if anything? The car already has tint and I do believe that the only other thing I'm going to invest in is sound. Looking to get a good system, what do you guys recommend?

Welcome to SLi! If you haven't found it already, theres an atlantic canada subaru club. www.subaruclub.ca (http://www.subaruclub.ca) we are having an annual meet soon (august).

I am unimpressed with my kenwood. I've had to fix it multiple times to keep it working. My next system is definitely going to have some sort of USB and audio input though.

I've been pretty happy with Pioneer equipment, which is the bulk of what I used in my system.

Thanks for the replys, I didnt know about the Atlantic Canidian forum, will join! Where do you guys meet usually? out of Newfoundland?

I'm still wondering about the audio. Pretty new to the whole car scene customization wise, been driving for a bit. Got out of quads and got into this, probably more expensive haha.

I have some questions on sterio equipment of you guys dont mind. Looking to get my idea of the whole package, not looking to go over $1000 tho. Speakers, Subs, Wireing whatever you need. What decks will fit the Legacy? What speakers and any where my best bang for the buck?

Welcome! I can't help much with sound as I prefer the sound of the car itself  If you are into "go", unfortunately there is not much you can do for power outside of a turbo swap, but if handling is up your alley, I would start with some nice rims and some sticky tires, then an adjustable rear sway bar and endlinks, followed by some Bilsteins (Kevin I think still has some for sale at 5 Mile Imports - http://forum.subaruclub.ca/viewtopic.php?t=5815&start=0. Some drop springs would go nicely too.

Take a look at the link above - Kevin has a few things for the BE that you may be interested in.

Usually we have meets in eastern NB or Nova scotia, since most of the members are from that area. There is the large annual meet and a couple of small get togethers throughout the year. There are a couple of NFLD guys around, but I dont think I've ever met any of them in person.

99% of head units will fit your car, since it is built for DIN sized stereos. you will have to buy an adapter for the wiring harness, but they aren't expensive at all.

Check out the stereo and DIY section. there should be a couple useful threads there!

Thanks guys, and yeah sansMYSTi, handling is way up my alley, got to get around the corner I wrote off a brand new civic faster in my Legacy haha. I won't be purchasing rims, stock 16's are good enough. And wouldnt be interested in lowering as we have alot of snow here and this is going to be my daily driver. But I am looking for front and rear strut tower bars, but can't find any really on Subaru Performance websites, anyone help me out?

I hope you plan on getting some winter tires (and maybe rims, dont want to salt stain your nice alloys)! Tires are the best investment you can get. All seasons are 100% useless in a atlantic winter.

Whiteline makes good bars. Just make sure you get the right endlinks - there are different shapes of endlinks for Subarus, not all are interchangeable.
