washed , waxed. back on the rd. detail secret inside!

Ok so I finally got my wagon back on the road after it being stuck in my driveway since march 16th. and let me tell you it was pretty dirty. SO. i washed her down yesterday after work. and waxed her this morning at work.

Detailing Secret: If you have black plastics on the outside of your car like my GT has the plastic skirts and lips. When they fade to gray or almost white there is a trick to restoring color without painting or using a armor plastic crap bottle that lasts a week. Travel to your local CVS or Walgreen's and buy something called KIWI's Leather Shoe Polish/Wax. Its a little bottle with a foam applicator on top. spread it over your plastic and wipe it smooth with a microfiber rag to insure a smooth coat. It will stay there for at least a year!! it brought my gray lips right back to life. look in pics for proof. the front lip was light gray now nice and black. Hope this helps!!

kiwi stuff will eventually wear off.. back to black and stuff like that is a little bit better.. and also i've even heard flax seed oil works pretty good as well.. just need to use a tiny bit of it as well.

what can i do about the black trim just under the rear windows, it was black like in your pics but pealed from sitting in the sun and now is a rust spotted chrome strip

i just use wd40 . i have found that the reason that they turn grey or white is beacuse car wax gets trapped in the little divits in the plastic . spray it with wd40 and wipe down with a rag

ya that to . im not to fond on the shoe polish idea on my molding . i think that i will stick to the wd40 method .
