I've heard good things about this oil and so are the other brands. I've already tried Mobile 1, Castrol, Torque, and now today, I bought some Royal purple oil.
This stuff is actually purpleish..by looking at it, I'll do the oil change this weekend and update this about the results. It cost over $7..little bit more than what I paid for the other oil i've used.

One of the few full synth oils recommended for turbo motors as well.

damn dino oils are better that mobil 1 .. the reason mobil 1 is expensive is because most of its batchs fail ASE - GL specs
what i dont third party reviews/test they always dont rate the oils at all the same stress specs. like an example from the whitepage review sponsered by amsoil tested all other oils in the tear stress test at 18.3 Ci and they tested on oil (i wont say) at 19.7 Ci over the ASE spec rating for the test. idk the test arent the best to rate oil at. it depends on which brand you like. there all are very similar

Woot! Fresh royal purple oil is in the car since last saturday. It runs like a champ with it, and really smooth when accelerating. Feels like there's more "kick" to it...or that i guess it's just the fresh oil

the question you should be asking is whether you need a more robust oil for your driving habits and maintenance intervals...
Using the most expensive oil you can find though not harmful to the car, surely isn't doing the same to your wallet.

Synthetic oil last longer than conventional. I change my oil around 4-5k sometimes.

Good synthetics can last longer than that. You will need to change the oil filter though.

I use the wallmart synthedic in my DD chevy and change it every 3000-3500 and it ussualy comes out still looking amber. At like 3.30 a quart, it's fine for a DD.

I use rotella T 5-40 on mine after HG's. With mobil 1 5-30, I could hear the cams ticking really loud, now it sounds smooths as butter.
