Oil pressure gauge install?

Heya, I searched but found nothing. I want to install an oil pressure gauge on my car. From what I'm told it should be the same for all EJ series motors. Does anybody know where to find a writeup on how to install a sensor/gauge?

I don't own a gauge yet, I wanted to find out what to do before buying a kit.

well you can hook it up by using a sandwich adapter on the filter or by puting a t-fitting were the oil pressure sending unit its. so you dont loose your idiot light. dont use that plastic line they give you it cracks after some time and your stuck on the side of the street. buy the copper line. just run through the fire wall make sure you have it protected and run it to your gauge
electric is just running wires to your gauge from the sending unit with the kit

Thanks for the info. So is the stock sending unit what I need, or will I need an upgraded one for an accurate reading on the gauge?

all the stock sending unit is a ground to turn on the idiot light if pressure its below 6psi. if you get a electric gauge it should come with a replacement sending unit to replace the stock one. this sending unit will give you a more accurate reading then a car with a factory oil pressure gauge. but wont be as accurate as a mechanical one. but electric ones are quieter and dont have to worry about bleeding the line every oil change

Don't use a mechanical gauge, a hot oil spill in the cabin could be bad. There are hex bolts at the back of the heads that you can take out and put a sending unit in. All you need is a 5mm hex head to take out the bolt. I would recommend getting one that is on a socket, a L wrench does not give enough leverage. If you use any location on the block make sure that your sending unit is not NPT, but BSPT.

I have a Defi Din pack in my 98 GT, and Autometer gauges in my 95 Turbo.

I just used an oil filter spacer for my gauges. I needed a pressure and temp openings, so this was more straighforward.
