problem

ok...i just got foglights today from autozone
i installed them
wired it all up
and they dont turn on
wires are all connected correctly
fuse is not blown
grounds are on the custom made brackets i made

so what could be going wrong...could it not have a good ground?....if so what can i attach the ground wires to so they work?

i would like to keep these lights considering it took me about 5 hours to figure it all out...

about 45 minutes trying to figure out where the switch is going
about 1 hour making the brackets
about 2 hours figuring out where to put the lights/how/installing
and about 45 minutes wiring it up

You can always run the ground to the (-) of ur battery

If they don't turn on, then you're either:
1. Not grounded correctly
2. Not getting power to them

So that means they're either
1. not wired correctly
2. faulty product

the fuse blew and my battery is completely dead...i have work in about an hour so im trying to charge my battery

they are coming out and giong back cause im annoyed

Sounds like you have a short. What you should do is get a multimeter and test your switch, power source, and ground. Are you using a relay?

When I wired up my aftermarket fog lights I used the multimeter to find a good ground up front - I think I wound up using one of the radiator mount bolts.

idk...that plate thats right behind the bumper that the gt bodykit thing bolts onto...those bolts is where the grounds are



either way i need a new battery



also i was backing up today and my car stalled??? is that normal...the whole battery thing has me paranoid

You had a short. Which drained your battery. It's also why your fuse blew. Though, it should have blown right when you shorted. So maybe you have two shorts? I don't know how you wired them. I ran a single power wire of a heavy gauge from a relay, split into a y to the two foglight powers, then I grounded each fog light individually on their side of the car. The 12v line into the relay is fused. It is switched on by my corner lamps, and then I grounded out where the battery grounds behind the driver side headlamp.

i have no idea about this stuff

heres how the wiring goes is moron-skook talk lol

the red wire runs from the positive thing of the battery throught the firewall to the switch

then the green wire runs from the switch, back through the firewall and down to the front of the car and has two connectors on it

the red wire of the drivers fog light connects into the one of the connectors on the green wire

then the blue wire connects into the other side of the green wire's connector and runs to the passenger side

the red wire of the passengers fog light connects into the other end of the blue wire

the black ground wires are bolted onto the bolts on the metal plate behind the bumper

the fuse is in the middle of the red wire and its actually located under my floormat by my pedals lol

ok....they now work...idk why they didnt before but they do now...i didnt change anything about it

the only thing that changed is the wires are muddy from rallying the other day...maybe thats it lol
