So I was test fitting the intake manifold, turbo inlet & intercooler today...
I'm using an 04 STi crossmember & intercooler, Group-N motor mounts and an 05 EJ205.
First problem I ran into was that the intercooler was hitting the underhood supports at the rear of the hood scoop cutout (where the windshield sprayer hose runs). So I had to cut out some of the sheetmetal there for clearance, no big deal and everything fits nicely there.
Now that I can shut the hood all the way, the engine seems to be really close to the hood, the intake manifold plenum is almost touching the black heat blanket on the underside of the hood.
I'm wondering if this is just because of the lower hood profile on the legacy, or if my motor is sitting higher than it should.
To those who have swapped, how close is your motor to the hood?
