Anyone have any experience with these? Good idea, bad idea? What size piping?

I'd assume that this is going to be more expensive than getting borla, but it could end up better. You need to go to an experience exhaust shop, and tell them how you want them designed (equal length, unequal, w/e) make sure you know whether your exhaust manifold is dualport or single (its real easy to tell) and what kind of bends and stuff you want ;)
I don't know about piping size, I'd assume they probably make it 1.75" per cylinder...
Then you can get your quote and scream, and click on the order button for Borla headers @ Renick motorsports ;)

It's hard to find a shop that can do MANDREL BENDS, (if you got one, good for you.)
If you can weld, get some pre-bent pieps, and DIY.....(I just saw that the web sight was from MN now.)
or pay someone to do it..?..(you pay for man hours)

I definitly have a single port. I looked at the borlas but they didnt have a price for the type I needed. Also, by the time I order it, ship it, get it across the border its going to be major $$
I dont think we have any shops around here that do mandrel bends :( I cant weld worth shit, but maybe my dad could try

yeah, you'll definitely want mandrel bent for something like headers...press bent takes too much volume out the the pipe...

Lee:
I've had a set of Brullen equal-length s/s headers on my 97 GT wagon for about 3 years, and am very pleased with them. Bought the headers secondhand and replaced the rest of the system with Brullen's catback system using their "quiet" muffler. The engine revs much more freely from 3000 on up.
Only wrinkle I've found is that the car wouldn't pass the provincial emission test. At idle, I noticed the cat was stone cold - the 3-1/2 feet of pipe on each runner were cooling the exhaust gas too much. Wrapping each runner with header wrap from the local speed shop fixed this.
Just a comment on making your own. Unless you have a dyno (or one of those GPS-based data loggers), and a lot of time to experiment you may not be happy with the results.

Cool :) Im not sure what the Emission codes around NB are, but I cant imagine them being too much different.
