Hi all,
I'm new to Japanese cars, I come fomr BMW/Mini background so I know a little about cars. I'm running a stock '99 Legacy with aluminium cranck pulley and an intake. I'm willing to go little deaper in modification. I'm searching for:

-Upgraded fuel injectors.
-Best cylender head.
-Best CAMs.

I'm not aware of the best aftermarket manufacturers for Subaru, so I hope you can provide me with something I can start with. The car is used at autocross and supercross, so I need to increase the torue mainly.

Regards,
Marwan

1) Start with the basics, get an intake and a cat-back exhaust

2) Add an OBX, COBB, TWE, or similar knockoff exhaust manifold

3) Do your cams

4) Leave the heads alone, they flow fine, and with upgraded cams will be just fine

Cams, I would suggest Delta cams, since nobody else with any good reputation is doing cams anymore for NA applications. :(

5) Your fuel injectors are fine as they are, unless you plan to turbo or supercharge or nitrous inject your car.

6) Get a custom made intake manifold, and some serious aftermarket engine management, and run an 8,000 rpm rev limit for autocross. Storm on NASIOC is doing just that, with a completely stock motor. You MAY want to upgrade your valve springs in the heads before doing this, but stock heads should be good for about 7,500-8,000 RPM.

Hi Sarra, thanks for the good info. Ok I decided to start with the basics and lets take it one by one:

-Which pulleys do you recommend? And do you recommend 2 or 3 pulley kits?

-I think OBX headers are good, do you think they are the best among TWE and COBB?

-Where can I get Delta cams from?

Check out the links I posted and I think one of them has them. Check out the Group A 3 piece pulley set. Also check out their throttle body spacer and the other mods that they have.

Thanks Jac, do you think that the TBS works good in matter of adding torue? On BMWs and Minis, they are not recommended although they increase the air mass  ...

I was going for COBB SF intake and airbox. Do you recommend it??

I would go with a cold air intake. I also have a link for that on my page. Also go with a dry filter since you will be in sand cause a filter like K&N uses oil and the sand will stick to it and it will cut off your air supply. You can also make a shield under the car to help keep some sand from getting to the filter to clog it. A cold air intake will give you a little more HP than a short ram intake.

Rallitek's Perfect Power 6 for your ECU... it has the most widespread support for these cars.

Check Reason on Group A products. He carries the line, and has some parts on his own car.
