They didn't lower my car any, but bilsteins are a heck of a lot better damper than a KYB.

so if i can get em for a good price should i still get em?

Dunno, if you want the car to ride smooth but handle well, by all means get the bilsteins.

If you need to feel the car crash over bumps and be harsher to feel like it handles well, get the KYBs.

I don't think the springs are much different if at all.

GTB springs will actually raise the front - they're designed for a heavier front end. You know, two turbos, downpipe etc.

However Bilstein dampers are about the best you can buy without spending crazy money. They're rebuildable, even in the USA.

A set of dampers should go for around $500 new...used a bit less.

How much are the rebuild kits for the Bilsteins? And where can you get the GTB springs? Do they make a set for the rear?

That i'm not sure of, most circle track / racecar shops can rebuild them.

And where can you get the GTB springs?

These are the factory springs from a Legacy GT in Japan. You would have to get them used from japan, such as on an auction site like ebay, or an importer of japanese car parts like Jhot.

Do they make a set for the rear?

Yes, the Legacy GT was equpped with both front and rear springs in Japan.

Will probably be going with the Bilsteins since you can rebuild them and I will probably be needing that after abusing them a bunch.

yall said it does lift them up a little more

I think the people saying that don't actually own them. My LS is probably pretty light up front with only the SOHC engine, so not really.

That's gonna lower your outback since the struts are shorter.

umm well the only strut that will be good for lift is 96-99 outback or 04-08 forester struts.. but the valving would be stock. you could have someone bore out you struts and drop in koni inserts. but thats expensive

lol I've got the Bilstein package & it sits like this!:

It sits about as high as an Outback in the front. Didn't raise the rear at all. I've got some GT wagon springs I'll be putting in. As Huffer said, it raised my lightweight L because of the difference in weight. I'm not sure why Mcarps is so even... lucky bastard.

for the last time, it's not the struts that determines the ride height, it's the springs that it is paired up with.

I was well aware... hence the GT springs coming soon

Not you, I'm clarifying that if you don't want the raised front look, get different springs, that is all. It's pretty straightfoward.
