2 pot and 4 pot calipers

Are they any 4 pot calipers that fit my BG on 15s? If not where is a good place to find 2 pots?

4 pots will NOT fit under your stock 15" wheels.

2 pots might, if they're the 95-99 Legacy GT brakes. Maybe.

Otherwise, you will probably have to upgrade to 16x6.5 wheels w/ 45-55 offset to use the 2 pots. Which come to think of it, you probably already have.

Unless you got shafted your 97 Outback should have:
Brakes: 4 channel Anti-Lock Brakes. Heavy duty 10.7 vented front disc with dual caliper pistons, 10.5" rear disk.

When I pulled mine off to change pads and rotors I only saw one piston. Probably why my ABS is a little funny at times.

As far as I know the outback should have the same brake set up as the GT 2 pot front 1 pot rear. Unless the previous owner switched the fronts. If you want I have WRX 2 pot calipers I will be selling soon off my car.

Just hold onto them for me.

not all bk wagons came with 2 pot brakes mine didnt its a 95 but that to be expected and some other people have single pots on the front. Also depending on what your doing 2 pots are pretty good for about anything unless your using it for track purpose. im about 100% sure 2 pots will fit under 15" rims. at least it looks like ther is on my gf's gt with 16's.

The BK/BG 2 pots are as large as you can go on brakes without having to go to a 16" wheel. I've tried putting 15"s over my WRX brakes. That's why I still have my LGT front brackets and rotors, so I can still run my winter tires on my WRX.

I managed to find some FHI 4-pots from a V5 sti at a jap wrecker for $400. The 2-pots are on order.

Oakos are good people.

There are certain 15" wheels that will clear 4 pots...that's why Subaru still uses them for their Group N and Rally America gravel setups. You'll need around a 40-42 offset with a 7" or so width, but clearance really depends on the inner face. There's a TireRack 15" rim for $82/ea that clears 4 pots and it's only 6.5" for example (the name escapes me right now, its one of their house-brands).

Flat-out easiest wheels to go over the 4-pots are the ones designed for them 'v5 sti' = Any 98-01 2.5RS 5-spoke wheels. The 6 spoke wheels will clear too, along with any wheels for the 04 USDM STi.

The 15" 'gravel rims' that SWRT USA uses most likely cost unspeakable amounts of green, but 'team dynamics motorsports' has some that are more affordable, but still not dirt cheap.

Sport Edition E3, from TireRack, $84/ea

The TD Gravel rims cost about $1000 for the set, which is comparable to other aftermarket rims when you buy new...

Off the top of my head, there's Enkei Gravel rims, and Compmotive as well for the 15" rims that clear 4 pots...

ok. im thinking about just doing the 4pot 2 pots thing now that i got 2 set of rims that are able to clear them. i know were i can get the caliper, rotors, and adj(for the rear). i was wondering what brake lines will i have to get? i would like to get ss brake lines. i have seen goodridge and sti ones. there is a $270buck diff between them. what ones will i need?

STi = snazzy pink coating
goodridge = no snazzy pink coating

Your choice. I know of a bunch of people that have run non coated ss lines on their rally cars, daily drivers, and track whores so I wasn't too worried about putting them on...is it necessary? eh, not really IMO, your pedal modulation gets much better with the monoblock calipers, the lines just bring it up a little better (like being able to modulate the ABS from coming on much quicker).

Both 04-05 RS / BD LGT rims are 16x6.5 you need a 3mm spacer to clear the FHI's or 16x7's
