Anyone run 17x9s on a BG5?

I want to put 17x9 with a 245/35 all around on a BG5.

It needs to poke about 5 or 10mm from the fender.
Any idea on ballpark offset to start with?

I have a crapload of 5x114.3 wheels around with great offsets, but no 5x100...
if noone can help me out, ill have to take saturday and pull the wheels off one side of the car after i pick it up thursday.

I believe sybir's Hooptywagon has run 17x9s before... might try PMing him.

Unfortunately, I haven't - widest is an 8, though I'm toying with going wider.

Here's a side profile with a 17x8, ET48, with a 245/40 (cheater 235, technically; the wheel and tire combo is wider than the 245/40/17/17x8.5 setup I run on my STi.)

Stock front fenders and fender-liners, rears rolled flat and pulled about 1/4-3/8"

At this height, the only place I rubbed was buzzing the fender liners in front under cornering over bumps.

Goes without saying, but you better be running stiff coilovers, and I'd run a narrow 245 if you're going to try it because the short profile isn't going to give you much of a taper. Biggest problem with going aggressive on a Subaru is camber loss on compressions - wheels don't tuck up in the fenders like they do on Nissans and other RWD cars. You're obviously familiar with fitting wheels to cars, just be warned you don't have as much space as you might think.

Only other guy running wide stuff (and that's on a BE) is Dook, with a 17x8.5 ET35, but he's running a 215 or something like that.

I'll see what is on the car now and space from there and figure it out. Might run a Run a smaller tire.

You'll probably have more luck with a narrow 225 on that setup. A 9 should be doable...I lean towards a little bit more meaty tire because our suspension doesn't lend itself to the crazy tire/fender profiles you run on Nissans with lots of camber, but I can respect the look :)

Well, got a deal on a set of piaa rozza wheels, not sure on sizing, gonna test fit them tomorrow, might need spacers, but they are super cheap and 18s


but yeah, the rears arent nearly far enough out. i plan on a pretty hefty roll and pull front and rear.

yes... and my coilovers... and if we could figure out a method, he would be sending me aero too, but that is too big of a pain in the ass.

JoeT runs 8.5" slipstreams with 245 r compounds on his car for autox, but he too has a BE and coilovers (and other suspension tricks I'm sure he's conveniently forgotten to list on the forums).
