Moisture

Does anyone have any tips to help get rid of some moisture in their car? I left my windows open the other day and it got pummeled with rain for a few minutes. Now whenever I get in the car it has that damp/musty smell to it that I'd like to get rid of.

Spray it down with some anti-bacterial cleaner, open all the doors, park it under cover and let it BAKE to remove excess moisture.

Hopefully this gets it early, because mold is a health hazard...

Thanks. It's not over powering but you can feel it when you get in.

At least it's not as bad as my Jeep was. I had run some wire through the door jam as a temporary thing and that channeled water right into my floor board. I literally had standing puddles in there.

Easiest thing to do is leave your car in a parking lot with the HOT HOT HOT sun w/ the windows down an inch or two.

I'v had to do this several times due to my poor judgment on the weather :-(

Anyways if the sun wont help you, then the next best thing is to bring a few heaters into your car (space heaters, pull floor mats out. and sit by your car to make sure it doesn't go up in flames :-D) 5 hours of heat in your cabin with the windows down an inch or two should get rid of the left over moisture.

For the smell theres two things you can do.

1) Any fragrance smoke item like incense will soak into your fabric and get rid of the smell. Only if you have fabric :-?

2) Shampoo your interior, this costs some coin but its the best solution.

I personally use #1, I cant stand those cheesy air fresheners.

Unfortunately we're not going to have any hot sun here for a while. We're stuck in a rainy weather pattern for the next week.

Not much fabric in the 'ol girl since it's got leather interior. I think I'll go to the local car wash and use their shampooer/vacuum that also has 3 different aromas that you can spray in.

Hadn't thought of the shampooing though, thanks.
