New to Subarus

First noticed the seats are not comfortable at all esp for the neck and back. The head rest gives no support at all. Are there any aftermarket head rest or mods? Which seats are exact fit?

Any short shifters for the my Wagon? Any 5 speed shift knob would fit?

Which yr cargo mats fit the 2001 Legacy Wagon?

Thanks

Any post 1990 Subaru seat will fit. I have a pair of 2003 Impreza RS seats in my 1999 Legacy which I find very comfortable, if you want the most comfortable I have heard good things about WRX seats. There are short shifters for your wagon, I'm not sure which specifically, but there are people here who could point you in the right direction. Most 5-speed knobs should fit your wagon, and I believe most year cargo mats will fit as well.

My seats aren't great either, although I do have the lumbar support. I actually think that my seat leans in toward the center of the car so I may be remedying that with some new seats in the near future.

Kartboy makes a nice short shift kit, although it's the only one I've ever installed so I'm a bit biased.

As for the cargo mat, I believe 2000 to 2004? Or at least anything that fits a BH will work in your car (mine came with one). Any of the major Subaru accessory sites should be able to steer you in the right direction.

On the subject of seats, I looked into Corbeau's. in a WRX w/ WRX brackets, they sit about 3" - 4" lower than stock.

So, in a legacy where WRX seats sit high, I think that would be a good combo using WRX brackets in our Legacy's for us 6' 3" folk.

just fyi.

I recommend the 04 WRX seats... they are nice and stockish looking, unlike the STi buckets which scream "racer" due to the no head-rest adjustment.

Short shifters are easy to come by - practically anything for the 98-05 Impreza will bolt right in. I have a Kartboy SS in my wagon and it's very slick. The throws are at least 35% shorter, sometimes if I'm too quick I will grind a gear if I'm not careful. Still relearning my shift patterns after 15+ years of RHD cars.

Cargo mats...I actually think that anything from 95-05 will "fit" but a perfect fit will be the 00-04 obviously. 05+ will probably work too as the rear suspension design is the same.

i've been driving for about 6 month now with jdm BH seats and they are great but if you dont want to spend too much look for wrx seats they are the same except for different fabric
