I've been curious as to what the significance of the L7 logo is. I know I will get an answer quick.

Simply the JDM legacy badge. It's actually two L's, just ones flipped... Though 7 is a lucky number, and you know the japanese... We can only speculate...

But yeah, L for legacy, just like the impreza's swooshy i emblem, or the fozzy's funny F thing.

Yeah, it's just the JDM legacy badge. We should consider ourselves lucky that it makes as much sense as it does, given some of the strange names cars get saddled with over there!

I always figured it was LT...as in Legacy Turbocharged...or something Engrish.

I always assume it was Legacy for north of the equator (Japan) and Liberty for south (Australia).

never really looked at it knew it was prob JDM but thought it was a lighting bolt.

Not sponsors apparaently, i read it was just solberg and the team that like the mags and stuck the stickers on themselves.

I THOUGHT it had something to do with the Subaru symbol: Six stars merged together to form one ? ..and SOMEHOW the Legacy/Liberty model represents/symbolizes a seventh star ?

I dunno, but it seemed "plausible" at the time. Your North/South explaination maybe makes better sense though.
