Someone please explain to me why, Japanese Clusters still have a "Check Engine" Light rather than a "チェック・エンジン" light?

Because they knew way before that we would be dumb enough to suck up all their 'JDM' stock stuff and knew we wouldn't know what the hell チェック・エンジン meant.

I was thinking that it was because English has the same "coolness" effect in Japan as Japanese does here. :wink:
