I found some time today and swapped out my rear seats from my BD for some Impreza RS 97-00' (2dr) seats.

There are somethings to be said before I go on:

1) By doing this you lose the ability to put down your seats.
2) There are a few gaps when installed but nothing major.
3) There is no issue with the backrest do to no back support.
4) The rear RS seats do not have fabric only foam so you will see it through the trunk. Look at the bottom of my post.
5) The width of the seats are almost the same as the BD's no issue really.
6) The rear section facing the rear speaker location has NO gap. It is perfect.

1) At the bottom of the rear seats there 2x bolts holding the lower portion of the seats. Remove these, I think they were 12mm but maybe 10mm

2) Once the bolts are out just pull the seat up and out.

3) http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/7045/2807081859zb8.jpg
Now remove the 3x bolts holding in the upper portion of the seat.

-1 near the left door
-2 near the right door
-3 in the middle of the seat

This is the 3rd bolt hiding under the seat in the middle.

4) Pull your seats down. and Pull the entire upper portion up and out.

Remove the 2 latches left over from the old BD rear seat location. These should be 10mm

6) Put the RS seats in.. there the exact same locations as the BD's. Follow the steps backwards :-D

Gaps

This is the bottom section of the rear seats. This really isn't an issue since I can just get foam and some fabric.

Its located by the "blind spots" of the car.

The rear section... Notice the Foam backing and not fabric.
I will probably get some fabric for the rear next week.

I will take better shots tomorrow.

wouldnt a 4dr gc rear seat fit as well , if so you wouldnt have the foam back im assuming , possible no gaps when you open the door,
but the seats look good in the car .

The gaps will be same.. since the design of the 95'-01' imprezas are all the same. Even the underside since the floor design is the same wth the 4dr 2dr

I am not sure about the foam backing with the 4 door. I haven't seen any 4 doors with their trunk open.

the imprezas have a cardboard honeycomb board behind the seat

if anyone cares the weight difference between legacy vs impreza rear seats is about 20 pounds.. No steel bars and reinforced backing on the impreza.

Bottom portion is the same.

No. it will not fit. these are not fold down style seats.. thus theres no special mounting points.. Sedan's are simple wagons are not. Although you might be able to install 93-01 impreza wagon seats but I have not seen this.
