Do not and i Repeat DO NOT plug in the single wire green connector under the dash on the drivers side of the car. it will only cause pain, frustration and anger. oh and ~seven check engine codes including 4 dealer codes that makes the idiot light BLINK!
i wired in my amp and sub woofer box yesterday :D and after poking the 6 GA wire thought my fire wall and behind the pedals i saw a little innocent green connector that was unplugged i thought "there shouldn't be anything unhooked on a factory car like that..." so i hooked it up finished running my wires to the back under the seat and everything listened to the new powerful bass for a while and called it finished.
a little later on i went to drive to my sister-in-laws' place to visit and as i was leaving i notice a blinking check engine light thinking oh #%$ ^^% $#^%#!
i drove to the advance auto in town and had the codes read:
P1100 Starter Switch Circuit Malfunction (dealer code)
P1101 Neutral Position Switch Circuit Malfunction(MT) (dealer code)
P1120 Starter Switch High Input (dealer code)
P1121 Neutral Position Switch Circuit High Input (dealer code)
P1540 Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction 2 (dealer code)
P0130 Front O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction
P0136 Rear O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction
said screw it i'll work on it at her place and went there, i google "subaru p1100" at the in-laws and the second link is http://www.jlaforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=1495145 (first one i clicked on)
the nice little green connector is a test connector of some sorts, and i had hooked it up. its supposed to be unhooked
morle of my rather odd story: dont hook up unknown wires
