Snowflake wheels?

Snowflake wheels would be referring to the stock 2.5GT wheels. I'm not sure how many years they used them, but I know my 98' has them.

Since the BG is the Outback, which was ONLY available with 15" wheels, how does that make sense? If you had said "all BK GT's came with snowflakes", it would make sense.

My 1998 Legacy GT is not a "BG". It's a "BK". Am I the only one who is insulted at having their car lumped in with Outbacks? I mean, they are the same chassis, but there are some major differences. My car ain't two tone, it doesn't have a lift, and it came with 16" wheels, contrary to the Outback. >_<

just to end the discussion, the "snowflake rims" were standard on all the 95-99 GT's, 00-02 GT's got them too, and only 03-04 SPECIAL EDITION L's got them.

Well, to poke a little bit, BG's aren't exclusively OB's everywhere, only in the US. And, as mentioned, BG's came with 16's and 17's as well, depending on the market, not to mention twin turbos ;)

BK = low roof
BG = high roof.

In Japan, I believe all of the GT-B's were BG's and I can't recall seeing a low-roof car (either in pictures or when I was there)......take a look at Japanese wagons after the 93-95/96 facelift (can't remember the switch) in Japan and they're all raised roofs, and Japanese part fitments are almost exclusively BG's.

FWIW, I don't take offense at my car being referred to either way or lumped in with GT's, since it's still a Subaru Legacy wagon, just with what amounts to a different suspension. For the same reason, my white car is an Impreza and I don't get into the whole "it's not a WRX, it's an STi" BS that a lot of kids seem to think is so important.

So, our BK's here were an oddity in the Subie world? No wonder the 'K' part doesn't fit the designation system properly.
