How different are they?
Gear ratio?
Which one do you think is better ? Autocross wise ?
and if I plan on swapping one in. Is it plug and play ?
THANKS

If you are talking about a 98 GT and a 98 RS, they are exactly the same tranny. A 99 GT and 99 RS tranny are also the same, however they are not the same as the 98.
They have the same gear ratios of 4.111
Both Legacy and 2.5RS trannys are a push style clutch, so not much there either.
Go get a rear diff from an 00-01 2.5RS. Those years were the only RS to get a limited-slip diff. This will help you in the corners and it still matches your gear ratio.
