What's everyone's opinion on air filters? It's time for me to replace the GT's filter. I have a K&N in my Typhoon, and I put one in the Volvo... But lately, I've been reading that Oiled filters aren't good for MAF cars, that you have to be very careful to not over oil them.

I've heard good things about Green Filters, but again, they are an oil type.

What's everyone else use?

I like my AC Delco filter. I was running a K&N but honestly didn't feel like it was worth it. I change my paper filter once a year.

I run a K&N, but re-oil very carefully.

I don't always drive in the nicest places, so the reinforced filter gives me peace of mind. (Even though a foam filter like a perrin would flow more)

If I were to keep a stock panel filter I would go with a foam filter, green filter is foam isn't it?

Doesn't appear so.

Unlike multi-layer gauze filters which can fray and release fiber particles into your engine, Green uses two layers of tightly-interwoven cotton fabric

Basically just another type of K&N?

I will look into foam filters, as I will most likely keep the stock airbox.

Ah you have to oil that too, stay away.

I've used a KN cone filter for a long time now with no problems. I've cleaned and re-oiled it about five times now. It works great and it's fairly easy to clean.

Doesn't AMSOIL make a dry filter?
