New guy here, looking for a nice wagon to swap this into. But before I commit to any shells, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with "RPM Garage"?

(I know this motor wont swap into a LHD shell, but I have the tools and skills to re-weld the firewall as ECS has done before).

I dont know if the broker service is necessary, but I do live next to one of their ports of entry into the US.

Thoughts and opinions welcome, thanks for helping the new guy!

I wouldn't do it. It's a pain converting to RHD. You might as well find a beat up postal vehicle or something and swap that.

I'd stay away from it, unless you want to conver to a single turbo or something.

I think what he means is he has the tools and ability to modify the firewall so that the turbos and all will fit. If that's the case, it'd definitely be an option to look at.

And if it's such a pain to convert, why are so many people doing it? If you convert it, you have to lengthen fewer wires IIRC.

Because it costs less than half of what a USDM engineset usually runs...

Get it and convert to a single turbo set up and you are all set.

you have everything you need to make it RHD so you dont need to worry about routing turbos

ECS has done it before... vickisgotawd...

If you get the full frontal clip with the steering rack, xmember etc, go for it.

I'll even drive to Youngstown to see it. ;)

They're actually selling that one too.

The links broken... But i assume he's talking about a TT engine?

My advice on that is, Get an EJ20R if you want one, and convert it to a single turbo. They are basically the same as a V3/4 STi engine... same everything pretty much, the ECU's even plug in no fuss.

As for a car to put it in, don't mess around with a BK, get a BG (outback) Far more JDM

Im looking into the TT clip or a USDM STi swap.

As stated the TT is TONS cheaper. Thanks for all the input so far!

Its a crap load of work. And, ive had really bad luck with all 3 ej20R engines Ive gotten from Japan.

Paul, how did this 20R work out? http://www.sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?t=9442

I love this wagon but it doesn't seem like it'd be worth all the effort to put 20r in a US market car.

Yeah, 20R's blow their big end's aroung the 100,000-150,000KM mark. Without fail. If you see one older than that, that hasn't, it's a freak anomaly.

Mine did it's at 115,000, right on time i'd say. One rebuild later and i have an engine as solid as a rock now :D
