Hi!
Back in February, I bought a Saturn Ion Redline, a supercharged rare car (1 of like 1700). I loved that car, right up untill 2 weeks ago when a guy went through a stop sign and we smashed, totalling the cars. I thought I wouldn't find something as fun to drive. I was wrong.
I now own a 04 subaru legacy. I really like this car! The only thing is I am having trouble finding performance parts for it. Is there any simple exhuast or intake out there for it? What can I do to turbo it? Can I use parts for the imprezza's with the same engine? I used the search and I've been all over the internet, this stuff is tough!
Any help would be appreciated!

That's too bad about your Ion...any injuries in the accident? My friend just bought a brand new 08 Saturn Skye Redline. I felt like I was in a jet when he took me for a ride.

Is your car a wagon or sedan? 5-speed or auto? L or GT?

00-04 wagon's are BH models, while sedans are BE models.

You can search the site for several different kinds of exhausts and intakes. Yes, you can use most intakes from the 2.5RS, but there are ways to make your own intake that you're better off with. As far as turbocharging your car, a wrx or sti swap is pretty much the best, if not only, way to do it.

Best of luck.

Where can I find a post on this "intake that you're better off with"? And I was looking for where (website, post?) I can find exhaust, because we can't just use imprezza exhaust, right?

I have the sedan, non-GT. 5 speed. What is the difference between the GT and the L? Just the Turbo? Or other components. In other words, is it a different engine? If I put the turbo set up on it, does that make it a "GT" set up so that I can use GT exhaust? Anyone know where I can get a dash kit for it? It's the 35th anniversery edition, so it has the wood grain interior which needs to go...
Thanks for the help!

The BE models (2000-2004) were non-turbo cars. The 2.5GT of 2005+ are the turbo models. I believe the difference between your car and the GT is the suspension (being stiffer on a GT), and side skirts. You should have woodgrain interior, body colored moldings and doorhandles, a power moonroof, and possibly a spoiler. Same engine, and your car should be lighter.
Anyway, welcome, and what color is your car?

Someone chime in about the limited slip cause I don't know the specifics.

Not so much that "you're better off with" the DIY intake, but it's cheaper and the power gains wont be as significant. Cold air intake for our cars go down to the fender, where air would be colder than inside the engine bay. Browse around the Members Rides section and see the different sorts of intakes everyone has. Same goes for exhaust.

What BE-Fresh said sums it up. No turbo for 00-04. You should also have projector foglights. GT's have a rear Limited-Slip differential, which helps keep both wheels spinning together. If you've ever had one wheel turn in the snow, while the other one just sits there, a limited-slip diff forces both wheels to turn.

cars101.com will have most answers to GT and L differences.

only the 1st and 4th gen legacies were turbo. as for intake if you can find a Cobb CAI(cold air intake) get it. they are rare. as for exhaust, i would get borla or obx header. than for the rest i would go to boxer4racing.com(good website for parts).

welcome to the darkside.
