Does anyone know if a second generation legacy (1997) steering wheel will fit a first generation (1994) legacy. If so, how hard are they to install.

Is there an SRS (airbag) system on the 1st gen?
If not, then the wheel should be bolt on. You can even remove the airbag cover.
Don't know why you would, as the stock steering wheels are huge compared to the much smaller diameter aftermarket wheels which are better to fit.
The only reason I haven't downsized my steering wheel is because of the SRS...

There is a guy in canada that wants to buy my MOMO steering wheel. He said he has a 1994 first generation.

As far as I seen and know you can swap steering wheels between 12st, 2nd and 3rd gen Legacy, and with those Impreza gens too.

Airgne's talking about the year-to-year discrepancies between "gens"
USDM 1st gen = 1991-1994, 2nd gen = 1995-1999
JDM 1st gen = 1990-1993, 2nd gen = 1994-1998
