I'm looking at getting the 17" JDM wheels for my SUS and was wondering if a 225/50/17 would clear everything. I'm trying to fill the wheel wells as much as possible to avoid any gap, and a 225/50 is almost the exact same size as my 205/70/15's.

Plus I think those wheels would set off my BD nicely.

idk about the 225/50 with those wheels. a 215/55 will definaly fit with maybe a slight roll or none. you not going to fill up any more of a gap than with those tires.. you'll just have some nice rims. only lowering will close the gap some

Well that's cool. I don't mind the gap I have now, I just didn't want it to look like some other "Outbacks" I've seen with low pro's. Thanks.

Looks like the 215/55's are basically identical to what I'm running stock. So my speedo won't be off or anything, that's good.

I expect gas mileage to drop a bit?

i cant see it effecting MPG unless the tire rim combo is much heavier. or the rpm on the tires at so different.. you might have some difference in handling, if the unsprung weight is more/less. it will be more stiff feeling because the sidewall is shorter

Ok thanks. I think I may pull the trigger and run these for the rest of the season (depending on if/when I get them), mount the winter tires on the stock wheels, then buy new summer tires for next summer with these wheels.

You're going to be running lower profile tires, so you'll have a more crisp steering responce, and less rollover in the corners.

My next question is, will my current stock lugs fit with these wheels?
