Dude KAG has them for cheaper and you can probably just go pick it up

PM KAG and ask if he can get you a LSD from a 00-01 RS. Also if the diff ratio is not 4.111 it won't work. Ask KAG and he'll tell you all about it

Also I think you need the rear axles

It would work, but you'll need to transfer the carrier into your ring and re-use your case.

Best bet is either take it to a shop to transfer it, or do the work then take it to a shop to make sure it's in spec.

$300 is overpriced for a 1st gen LSD. unless it way rebuilt in the past.. you will need to transfer the carrier and slap your ring gear to it.. then getting the right spec and latch..

see get the 01-00 RS rear diff and axles and you won't have to do too much work

why is this in chassis and suspension? :smt017

Anyways, to answer your question if it's a good deal or not. Let me explain.

You see how the sides of the diff have stubs? Your car has those stubs on the axles and not the diff. (at least that's how my car was). You would need the matching axles, and the 91 SS axles might not have some of the features the axles on your car has.

Next, that differential is a 3.90 and you need a 4.11 diff. There is an enormous selection of 4.11 LSD diffs that Subaru has made and will bolt right up to your car. If my car was 4.11, my life two weeks ago would have been much easier.

Now, the car it was pulled out of is a 1991, and it's now the year 2008. This means the diff was most likely made in 1990, and is now 18 years old. Even though it has 'low' mileage, that doesn't mean it's going to work perfectly. It has seen much wear and tear with 130k miles, and you will be putting more on it.

Lastly, for that price, wow. I was able to find an 05 wrx lsd with only six thousand miles and axles attached for $200 cash. Lucky for me, it was also a mere 30 minutes away, almost like it was meant for me to buy it.

So the answer to your question is no, it's not a good deal. For someone with a 91 SS that needs a new diff, it might be a good deal, but for you, no.

Like Antonino said, PM me if you want me to help you with a 4.111 LSD, I'd be glad to help.
