Japanese Sat Nav/DVD - Possible to get converted to English?

I have an imported 2001 B4 that came with a factory fitted Subaru Sat Nav/DVD player but all it does at the moment is show a warning symbol and something in Japanese.
Has anyone ever come across an English conversion disc or something to that effect? And if so where?

Rumors going around about some translation software CD (english conversion disc) but Subaru Assured us its a load of crack.
