need advice...

hey guys i just installed my jdm fogs into my 97 gt, i currently have then wired through the factory plugs so they cut off when hibeams are on and are not independent by anymeans. i would like to do independent but when it comes to safety inspections is it legal to have seperatly wired fogs?

my main question is this we all know that the jdm fogs have a projector and a side light. at the moment when the fogs are on all the lights turn on. but i want to wire the non projector part of the fogs to be independent and only turn on when i press the unlock button. i figured i could do this by wiring it to the dome lighti n the car because it's the only light that stays lit up when you press unlock. and i want to find some red bulbs so when i press unlock theres just 2 bright beams of red. i know this sounds kinda ricey but i think it owuld be pretty cool to have the red lights only turn on when i press unlock and yes i owuld want to wire them so that they wouldnt turn on while driving....

need adviceo n how to safely wire those to the dome light and where to maybe find red bulbs which i believe it's a 1156 or 1056 bulb.

2 relays would do the trick one wired into the dome light power line to close the loop (power) to the fog lights whenever the dome light is on, and the second to open the loop when the motors running dont know what whire you use for that but it could be done.
