Alright so my check engine light came on 2 days ago when i was driving down the highway. I took it to autozone and they ran the free scan for me and it came up with the P0420 which is the Catalytic efficiency below threshold code. Now i didn't have the time to really look into this b/c i was at the store so the guy told me that my fuel injectors might be dirty and that i might have gotten some gas with a little to much ethanol in it or something. So he sold me 2 bottles of gum out fuel injector cleaner and said to put one in and fill up and then put the other in when its half empty and fill it up again and the CEL should go away. Has anyone ever hear of this getting rid of this code like that??? From what ive been reading its usually a problem with the O2 sensors or the Cat itself. Did i just get scammed outta 10 bucks and a tank of gas???
