My suby woke up sick this morning

Since my license is on suspension, I haven' driven my Legacy in a week or two, but when I started the engine this morning, it turned over, but struggled big time to start. When it started, it grunted, almost rattled to life. The engine seems to idle fine, but when I give it a little bit of gas, there's some nasty rod knock.. On top of that, I checked under the car and my heads are leaking oil, which I thought might have been a leaking valve cover gasket. I'm going to try to get a video up soon of the knock sound, but does anyone have any advice for the time being? Am I looking at a serious repair job here? Or should I start looking for a new car...

I'd try to get the valve covers off and see if there's a bigger issue...

spun bearing if it sounds like that thats what my car sounded like when i spun a bearing

mmm. that weird i couldnt see it spinning a bearing after sitting a week.. unless the oil pump loss its prime and didnt pump any oil.. i had a weird start with my car 6 month ago starting after a oil change. it started hard and was only idling at 300rpm and made rod knock sound, it off.. turned it back on in 10min started fine and idled normal and it was weird.. havent had any problems in 20,000 miles.

Well..that's very odd. I started it again a couple minutes ago and the knock seems to have gone away...I think I'm going to have it towed somewhere to have it looked at.

if it gone away. its very hard for a shop to find a problem since its a would be thought to be a internal problem and if the noise has gone away they cant dulplicate the problem. so unless it comes back i wouldnt worry about it
