What is it worth? My 99 LGT...

This is basically the ad I will be posting here soon.. just want a ballpark of what you think its worth. I know I will be losing some money.. but... we'll.. i think I want to see what I can get. I will obviously get new pics once the car is for sale.. but I just want to see what you guys think...

The car is in great condition. I have WAY more into this car then I am asking for it. It has brand new suspension, brakes, and recently painted JDM front bumper and fog lights. The car DOES appear to have high mileage.. however, the engine has been completely resealed, and the headgaskets done as well. I have all the paperwork for this. Recently the 2 front axles have been replaced, as well as the power steering rack, all 4 rotors, and brand new brake pads. This car is WELL worth the price I am asking for it.

Interior

Exterior

The exterior is in good condition..minor things from normal driving wear are on the car, but nothing serious. The underside of the drivers and passengers door need to be painted.. but that’s the only major paint flaws on the car.

I have all the paperwork for the things that have recently been done, since they were done at the local Subaru dealership. This car really is in great condition and has a lot of work done to it that will make it last a long time even with the high mileage. The car drives great and sounds awesome!

Yea.. i figured somewhere around 7.5k.. shit.. that really sucks, means im losing TONS of money on this thing! LOL *rolls eyes*.. why did i ever start modding it! *sigh*. Sad that i bought the thing for $6500.. and have thousands into it.. :lol:

As nice as it is, good luck getting 7k for it. Maybe 6k at most, a car is not an investment (at least this car).

You are better off parting the goodies out and sell the car on craigslist for $5,000-$5,500

It also depends on your location too. AWD are worth more up north im assuming right? because of the weather..

i say part out the goodies off the car, and return the car back to stock :grin: ..for it being in that tip top condition...i'd ask for around $8500 if possible...and throw in the word "RARE" in the sales listing ..it'll attract more attention to newbies....it is afterall a "limited" :lol: good luck..

$8500 is a long shot.. $6250 is the going value for the northeast .. on the mods its mostly exterior mods so idk.. it depends on what crowd your looking for to sell it.. people that just want a AWD car or people that like subarus but dont care about anything aftermarket. then i would return the car to stock. because mods dont add to the value of a car. it degrades the value to most people. so what i would do is throw the car up as it is for a reasonable value around $6500-$7000 see if you get any bites. if not you can lower the price or return the car to stock and relist it. and see how that goes

$7k will be the average figure. The higher miles will prevent more than that.

I bought my 98 GT wagon with two sets of wheels and about 80k for $7k nearly 2 years ago.

To the right person who recognizes the work, $7.5k.
To the average joe looking for an AWD car, $6.5k.

Give me the GTB wheels though. ;)

Yeah I would say you are about right huffer.. really depends on who is buying the car, and someone who can realize that the engine has almost been completely re-sealed.. not to mention had the headgaskets taken care of.. etc.. etc.

If anyone is interested here.. shoot me an offer.. I really hate to see it go.. but I'm looking into some new projects.

Unfortunately modifying cars is a sunk cost & not an investement. Its a really desirable BD to the enthusiast like you or I, but to the average Joe, its just another 153k Subaru.

Why are you selling it anyways? If you have so much into it, why let it go now?

Dude keep her. She loves you and you've put a lot of effort, love and time into this car.

You'll miss her in the winter man and I can only image at this point how good she looks with a JDM bumper to go along with the wheels

First off, I'd keep it. If you have money into it, and it's not leaving you stranded on the side of the road, why part with it? As an enthusiast, I'd say this car with all of the parts on it could be worth up to atleast $6500, maybe 7. But to those who know nothing of this car, only want an AWD vehicle and looks at the mileage, they're gonna low ball you at like $5000.

So like I said, to get maximum amount you will need to part out the JDM parts and sell the car stock. $7k is a lot, you can get swapped LGTs for the 8K range.

d1gi, lets say you average 23mpg and drive 12K miles a year and you pay an average of $3.75 per gallon. You'd be spending roughly just about $2,000 a year in fuel costs

So you sell the Legacy and get something more fuel efficient (not that an RSX K20a2 is a fuel miser mind you) that gets 30mpg. K20a2 or Celica GT-S take premium so 12k miles a year at an average of $4.00 per gallon. It comes out to $1,600 a year.

I imagine you'd be financing the difference in price?

-Get real dude, keep the Legacy. I'm sure you just spent 2-3 the difference in fuel prices on your new bumper.

No financing for me.. would be probably buying a used higher mileage car and kicking in the extra cash myself. And yes.. the bumper was around $250 shipped.. but.. point being.. when another 'econo car' breaks.. it doesn't cost a fortune to fix.. unlike the legacy in parts and labor. I know this from experience of having a couple of hondas before hand..

And yes.. you can get swapped LGT's in the 9k+ range.. but for the most part.. the bodies themselves are from 97-98 vehiclies and are pretty crapped out looking.

Either way.. im sure you are all right.. as I wont really get too much for it.. but.. we'll see.
