Making a non-turbo a turbo?

I have a 2000 GT and was wondering if it was possible to adapt a wrx/ any turbo to it. I know you can get a AVO bolt on kit for it but I dont really want to spend 4000 dollars. Just curious how hard it would be if I could scavenge up some used parts, or maybe I am just dreaming? Any help would be appreciated?

it can be done, but you will spend some money. it would be better off to get a sti or wrx front clip and then do the swap.
