Then you'd need a 4.44 final drive...?

What for? You going with boost any time soon?

My car has 3.90, and I'm still barely under 3k going 70mph. Although, I can go 100 and still be under 4k.

Keep your 4.11. Anything below that and 1st gear will feel sluggish.

Your only options would be 3.90 (Older impreza's, Legacy L's, STi 6spd, 02-05 WRX) or 3.70 (06/07 WRX)

Just use the chart and converter and plug in the numbers to find the right one for your needs.

Yeah, 3.9 or 3.7 are your only OEM options, lest you get some custom gears (PPG and the like will do it).

Keep in mind taller gearing = more strain on the drivetrain. Talk to all the 06-07 WRX owners that have busted 3rd gear (not that an NA subaru would be able to produce the same kind of torque, but still).

I <3 the 4.11 with the turbo ej though, I think it's the best combo for top speed and power delivery.

And since you have a 4.11 already...

SS got 3.9, 06-07 WRX's got the 3.70.

How is 1st gear useless? Too short?

with the clutch i have its like the granny gear in a old granny 4speed. only time i use it is when im up hill or starting out in the dirt. so if i get a 06-07 wrx tranny i would have to ge the rear diff as well? what else would i need to get to do this swap?

The tranny you have now is a push style clutch the wrx is a pull style clutch. You'd need the clutch slave cylinder, the master cylinder to slave cylinder hose, new clutch, and the rear diff.
