Ok, I turn of my car, take the keys out of the ignition, and my music is still playing and my TVs are still on. How?! Its not the wiring in the back of my CD player, because my ciggerette outlet still works? Do i have short? Is it a fuse problem? Someone help. I dont think it would be a fuse because the cd player and lighter outlet shouldnt be coming on right? Someone help me before my battery drains!

This thread reminds me of 'help, my lights are on!' type threads. You didnt perchance wire your stuff into the parking lights somehow? :? If so just flick the switch on the top of the steering column.

Other than that, I would have no idea short of seeing how you wired everything up.

Disclaimer:
Of couse this is just one of many possibilities and may not be the best way to solve your problem.

The 12V accessory lines may be somehow getting the 12V unswitched power. You can try to pull your accessory fuses to narrow down where the "bridge" is coming from. Notice what happens when you pull each fuse. If one fuse turns off everything that is on (provided they aren't all connected to the fuse you're pulling out) then that is the circuit that is causing problems. Just be careful when you put the fuses back in, devices with high current draws on powerup may blow the fuse.

Once you've found the offending circut, you then have to isolate the device/wiring in that circuit where the bridge or short between the 12V lines is.
If its easy enough, you could also just try unplugging some of your electronics first to see if one of those devices is causing the problem.

Yeah, what baker said. The other day my key came out a 1/64 rotation from fully turned off, and so everything stayed on. I hopped in, rotated forward, and then all the way off.

when in doubt, always give it an extra jiggle. ;)

I had a few cars that I could remove the key and the stuff would stay on...

Sometimes the ign switch wears out. Just give it a wigge before pulling the key out and see what happens.

Let us know what you find out.

Yeah, Every once in a while everything turns off. I NEVER thought it was the ignition. I'll give it a shot next time my car starts to screw up. Thanks guys.
