vin located on ej25? where?

kinda a simple question today, is the vin number located on the engine anywhere/

I want to find out what year my new jdm engine is and what phase it is.

There should be a plate for that inside the engine bay on the driver's side.

yeah i know the vin for the car just not for the new motor i ordered. Thanks for the advice though.

to my current belief subie motors aren't vin stamped so your outta luck for a vin number

Yeah they aren't stamped but the engine code is stamped. It should say which version of engine you have (EJ20G, etc). A good JDM importer will provide the VIN of the vehicle the engine came out of or you will sometimes find it on the receipt. Or you could post photos of the engine on this forum or some of the larger forums and people might be able to help identify it.

thanks for the help, ill have pictures up soon. all it says is EJ25, there are a few other numbers ill take a look at

im not to worried im gonna replace the head gaskets anyway
