We will be meeting outside the Sear's in the LLoyd center parking lot at 1:00. We will be leaving the LLyod center at 1:30pm(no later). From there we will be going to Mt Hood Ski Bowl for night boarding. If anyone has questions please ask and I will try and answer them as best I can.

Crystal Mountain or Mt. Hood. I've got a seasons pass to Mt. Hood Meadows but I've never been up to Crystal before. Mt. Hood is less than an hour from my house which is nice though.

Mt. Hood seems to be a little bit closer to me. ...I'm over in Kitsap County Near Bremerton and Bangor. I just moved here... is Mt. Hood in or around Seattle??

haha. no far from it its an hr away from portland, but hey its ok. your new to the area. we are not far from each other. i just hope ppl will look into this.

ahh i see. well that's not too bad either, cuz Portland is 3 hrs from me. and I appreciate the understanding for the "out-of-towner" lol - hell, the car still has CT tags on it, itll be easy to find at the next meet.

i would be into this for sure. im only like 45 minutes from mt hood. i would say timberline or ski bowl. i hate meadows. last time i went there i got my old car keyed and the tailights busted out for parking too close to someone.

I could enjoy this ... and Crystall is much closer than Hood for me ...

And never having tried snowboarding .... maybe one or more of you would share a bit of time and enjoy some laughter helping me start ...

grew up on slalom water skiing ... and have skied Alpine & Xcountry competatively and for fun ... but its been a few years since I'v chance ... time to do either ...

I might be up for this, but I will be on skiis. I am also in the Kitsap area, so Crystal would be closest, but Baker or Hood are both ones that I haven't been to yet, so I would make the drive if I have the day off.

Baker is a kick ass mountain (and really close to me), so if it were there, I could do it. Do we have dates planned?

Some things to consider:
Weekends are heavily trafficked on most these Mountains so I'm not sure how well a cruise would go.

I voted Crystal Mountain. I can make a weekend of it up in Capital Hill (Seattle). I've never been to Crystal before.

Does everybody got snow tires? I'll be rocking my studless Toyos all winter long.

There is three choices for skiing up at Mt. Hood.

About $45 for a lift ticket + $10 for lunch
Most vertical feet of skiing. Its basically one big snow field, not a whole lot of variation in terrain but still a lot of fun. The parks are always good if that's your thing.

Tickets are going to be at least $55+ and about $10 or more for lunch.
The best terrain on Mt. Hood. Its also got the biggest ski area. Lift lines and parking is really bad, especially on weekends. Sometimes the lines are a half hour + wait in my experiences.

Weekend pricing is $43 & lunch is a little cheaper. $26 for a 3PM to close ticket. I also like their bar!
Ski Bowl is most renowned for having the biggest night skiing area in the United States (if not North America)
Night skiing here is a blast, its really well lit, the lines are never long. The terrain is great, especially in the upper bowls.
I think night skiing here is our best option.

About 4 hours or so. Its about an hour east of Portland. I can house a couple of people here in Portland the night before if need be.

moved date, so more people can plan on getting the time off. it looked like there would have been only 3ppl there. i would have gone. ppl always say that they are willing for a legacy meet, but then not many ppl show up or reply. you can ask the guy that went on the last one. we had a blast.

Well, maybe this is Karma for missing the last NW meet, but just as I was afraid of, the Det I am going on got moved over. Weeks ago (when I originally posted my concern with the potential dates) we had and 'idea' of when we would be going to the carrier...unfortunately, today at a squadron meeting, it was officially announced that the det starts on the 17th. :smt013 I'm terribly sorry to have to bail. The good news is that I'll be a civilian in about a month and a half, so I shouldn't have any more problems like this.

Such a pain in the ass to get everyone together for a meet. Airgne is trying really hard to get his BE back on the road (dropping the tranny right now as we speak) to make it to the meet tomorrow afternoon.

Well I either couldn't find you guys or I was the only person to show up. :smt009 :smt010 I parked on the top two floors of both the main parking garages and didn't see anyone else. I waited till 2PM then came home. I showed up at around 1:10 and went to the big garage first with the round about (circular) entrance, then around 1:30 went to the other lot that leads into the food court.

Oh well, I got some amazing pics I'll post up of my ride with an SLR I borrowed today. I'll update my MR thread with shots tonight.

i got the tranny back in my car at 3am, and i still have the same problem. i have to get a new clutch.. i would have been there if i could. since toby was the only one that showed up, im not going to orginize any more meets. the only meet i will do is the MT. St. Helans run we did last year.
