Better deal:
http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?mode ... rodid=2042 (http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?model=legacy&cat=driveline&prodid=2042)
Exedy/Daiken OEM Replacement Clutch Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS/Legacy 2.5 GT (non turbo only) with Exedy Lightweight Flywheel $565 shipped.
Edit. Sorry, just read that you don't want to spend more than $400.
If you just want a clutch, buy one of the F1 Racing clutch kits on ebay or the Gripforce ones from ebay - they are EXEDY OEM units.
Unless you're planning an engine swap in the next year, an OEM type clutch is fine for you.

You might as well upgrade the flywheel if you can - it's only $125 more and it's free shipping.

youdbe wise to stay the hell away from the F1 clutches, they are NOT exedy and are pure inconsistent crap.
however, you can get a brand name exedy oem clutch fom ebay for about $153+$18s&h, i just picked up another one last week for that price. ill look the seller up later... (megatuninginc)

yeah, you're more likely to get ripped off on ebay than anywhere else online, that's for sure.
Teague's Auto has quite a few clutches under $400:

The chances of getting ripped off by any online retailer are exactly the same as ebay - the only difference is that ebay allows you to price compare against other retailers at the same time.
ebay isn't selling you jack, ebay is simply your price comparison page.

Unless you plan to have your car stationary for a time, you might as well buy a new flywheel at the same time - at least it's there if you need it, and you won't have any downtime.
Besides, you'll enjoy having a 14lb flywheel - you'll improve engine response, and your MPG will go up because you've shed drivetrain weight.

I stand completely corrected - my info was from Storm, who did have good experiences with his first F1 unit, but not his second. Seems that's the norm, and their CS is shite.

Cliff Notes: DO NOT BUY F1 RACING OR GRIPFORCE SUPPLIED CLUTCHES.
