I can't seem to find a difference.

I think it's the base model, no power windows and locks, and no tachometer.

gotcha...well...I won't add "brighton" to my sig. I'll post the "meatwagon" after I get her dirty at paintball this weekend. My wife rolls her eyes because when she asked why I call it the "meatwagon" I replied "cause it has to haul all this beefcake around" as I pointed to the "unit"

Also depending on the year, it came with no rear wiper, which was a really odd option to not include on a wagon.
But, then again, no Tach. on a M/T car is odd as well.

Its the base model, no frills. On the up side, it's the lightest model by a good 100-200lbs usually.
A lot of people use Brighton Imprezas for swaps for this reason.

yup brighton = base model
I just grabbed a parts BK GT and my buddy asked if he can take the doors, power mirros and cluster
The cluster is plug and play.
The power mirrors are plug in play as well.
Door panels are direct swap. not sure about the power lock wires
The power windows are not. No factory wiring on the brighton.
Just some info if anyone cares.

Brighton = base model is only true for the US!!!
In JDM land, birghtons are medium trim. The JDM brightons have pleanty of frills like central locking and power windows, but no AC computer, folding mirrors or anything anything like the bog standard GT. What defines the brighton in japan is the 2.2L. The base spec models in japan have 1.8's

Didn't the US Brightons also have no AC (assembly and all)?
These things are ones to get if you're a minimalist or you plan on turning it into a race car.

Didn't the brighton have rear drum brakes while all the other Legacys had discs in the rear? Or maybe the L had drums too...

Aren't Brightons a bit lighter as well, since it seems they went cheap on EVERYTHING like less insulation?
Good base for a race car - but as a daily driver, get some discs in the rear and add the mirror and tach. Oh, and some alloy wheels in 15 inches or larger. The Brighton has 14s.....
Almost bought one in Sandstone Metallic, just for the color, but settles on the L in green. I still like that color.

When they were new, their price tag was pretty cool.
And they're lightweight, some imprezas were heavier.

Insulation is the same throughout all Legacy's
Same carpets same rubber mattings same everything. By lighter they are referring to all the "options" that L/LSi/GT's get.
