an aux in on the front? So you could plug in an MP3 player.

I have been looking around on ebay but haven't seen any with a jack.

The new Impreza did for a while, I know. I believe that the jack was located toward the back of the center console.

Couldn't tell you for sure, but I think it was '06 and up, IIRC.

I know our '08 Outback has it in the center console. Other than that, I don't really know.

Sweet.

I also found out that any '07 Impreza, Forester, Outback or Legacy deck does have the remote AUX jack, all you need is the deck and the pig tail for the AUX harness as its a special Subaru connector on the back of the deck.

Now to scour the interwebs..

I may go that route, since you can only use an 07 to get the stock aux in.

I'm defiantly considering it, since 07 decks are scarce and expensive. Found one on NASIOC with the sat radio equipment and aux in for $300. I think you could pull off the other with any 02-07 deck and that kit for $150-ish. and still have the option to use an OEM sat radio if you wanted..

Some of the late 90's had the aux jack on the front face. Very few models and year, then they disappeared. No aftermarket company makes any direct connection for the Subaru stereos either yet.
