ecu/wiring harness question

so im getting everything ready for my swap and heard that i need to get a certain ecu and harness for my motor(ez30d) is this true? i cant get the vin off the original car so i dont really know what to do. i searched on used car parts and seen there where 2 different ecus for the 2002 h6 legacy. would anyone know what i need to use? any help would be great

Not too familiar with the ez30 myself, but I do know there is a thread in the swaps & coversions section on nasioc.

You may be able to look up the engine code and figure it out that way.
