So the thread title is pretty self explanatory. I was wondering if it'd be possible to swap in the timing chain and gears from an H6 motor onto my 4 cyl. Any thoughts?

Oh wow, yes it is. Nevermind then. That's too bad, that would've been a cool swap. Is there any companies that make a timing chain for the ej25?

There's only a timing belt for the EJ25s. Plenty of companies make replacements, but I would only buy a timing belt from Subaru.

Yeah, that's the way I think I'll go. Would the timing belt from STi made for the WRX (PN: ST130284S000) work with my motor? An Ej25 is an EJ25 no matter how you slice it, right?

Not necessarily. There are SOHC EJ25s and DOHC EJ25s... they are different.

For simplicity's sake, just buy the timing belt made for your car. Take your VIN# and call up your dealer. Buy the part from them.

They say the OEM STi belt is Kevlar reinforced, not sure if it fits though..

02 outback is SOHC
