View Full Version : What's your dream car?
So there's no limits, it doesn't matter what make or model or body type or anything. What is your dream vehicle? Include dream mods if you'd like.
For me, it's this exact car:

Every single James Bond mod combined into a widebodied, camocolor-changing GF8 Impreza wagon-similar with adjustable height suspension (using an uncompressable fluid for height adjustment) along with photochromatic windows and radar deflective paint.
I also want a V10 stuffed in the back (mid engine FTW) and a center-mount driver's position a la Mclaren F1 + the paddle shifting.
Carbon fiber everything including drivetrain components, the electronic yaw and stability control from either the Nissan ATTESA system or the Mitsubishi EVO MR.
Bulletproof tires with retractable studs.
Oh and aero flaps for emergency braking.

Dad's can dream and still lug their children to soccer practice. This car does it all for me. I imagine pulling up to a stoplight next to a mustang GT or some redneck hotrod and punching the V10 so hard that the car seat flies out the back window. This is a dream that works in reality. (except for the huge price and the fact that it is not available in the US. Shocker... We never get the good stuff.

Hmmm.... A tricky one.
Of course my ultimate dream car would be my Leggy GX 2.2 1991 fitted for the ultimate rally, because I´m a rally fanatic.
If money is no issue: An Audi R8, Audi RS4, Audi RS6, a tuned Audi S2, Subaru Legacy STI (2009 or 2010) and an Impreza 22B.
My all-time favorites are: TVR Sagaris, TVR Cerbera, Noble M12 or M14, Koenigsegg CCX, Lotus Europa (2008), Nissan 200SX, 1st gen Mazda RX7 and a really jacked up Outback on 30" tyres or even bigger.
But honestly my favorite car would be my Subie tuned for the rally with a STI engine swap, some crazy shock absorbers, Brembo brakes, STI rims and a new paintjob. Plus some huge mudflaps, skidplates, recaro bucket seats, Momo steering wheel and gear lever and much, much more.
I guess I´m just strange...

In all honesty, my car!
It works:
it's always been the car I keep coming back to
it's got a bodykit from the factory
it'll be a sleeper with a WRX engine swap (and probably will perform way better like that)
it's probably all but ignored since there are so many legacies on the road, but not that many gts in my year
...and I drive it now.
Now, if Mr. Fuji Heavy industries himself asked me what car I wanted for Christmas and bought it for me, I would say a 2008 Subaru Forester 2.5XT Cross Sports with the factory lowered suspension and a nav system, in forest green, with white grams lights rims.
There you go.

Yes, yes, I know, I change my mind too much, but here are a few more possibilities:
On the track, the Mosler is where it's at
http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/5307/mt900ku0.jpg
Another track option if the Mosler is out of commission (which many of my cars often are)

Obviously, neither of those are very good daily drivers, so for daily driving and rally-x duties, I'll have this bad boy

the jeep, taco are the real pictures from when i owned em
...interior/exterior bedlined...
Speaking from experience, not nearly as cool as you expect it to be before you destroy your vehicle's exterior with the stuff.
On that note, anyone know a good way of getting bedliner off of exterior automotive paint?

I think you're out of luck on that one. You strip the bedliner, you strip the paint of at the same time. :smt011

Actually if it is overspray on the paint, and it wasn't grinded etc. you can you a mild solvent, like one for automotive detailing. I use to spray bedliners. Also if you didnt want to use the solvent, you can use claybar. Which is clay and use glass cleaner, water, any kind of lubricant so you dont burn the paint.

Forget having a dream car... I want A few cars in my garage. Daily driver: tastefully yet conseratively tuned sleeper new model leggy; weekend driver:90's acura NSX with jdm swap throughout with nice sized turbo; sport adventure driver: nissan xterra with mild lift and nice treading. I guess its not really a dream but a goal once I get out of school and settled.

This is my Dream Car. It is such because since I have owned it, I have had roughly 5 weeks of full drivability, and almost 9 weeks of limited range due to blown head gaskets, or my vehicle being undrivable due to its inhabitance of a shop, or its complete lack an engine. This is even counting the 3+ weeks I drove the vehicle with my "new" engine knocking like a rod or bearing was attempting to run away from home.
That is a staggering 14.7% functionality on a vehicle I have payed about $10,000 on in purchase and repairs. The only thing that worked less well and was more costly than my Subaru has been was the presidency of George W. Bush.
The worst part is that I love the damned thing anyways.

I just did some more calculations: Cost + Repairs divided by the total days owned = $94.28.
The thing has cost me $94.28 a day to own, excluding insurance and gas. Eww...
 dang, that sucks! I know that I average about $9.46 per day in gas alone in the 'Rango. After I start getting repairs done, that's gonna go up quite a bit.
