I barely ever listen to the radio in my car but the other day i switched to it I realized it didn't work... the power antenna doesn't even come up. I checked the wiring for the deck and the wire adapter thing and they match up. Everything is plugged in and connected. Any ideas?

Could be that the antenna doesn't work at all... do you get a hissing through the speakers or any kind of static?

I get a bit of static through them. I wouldn't think it would be a faulty antenna though because it worked fine when I had the factory radio in it.

Has to be the harness wire -> your aftermarket radio or your aftermarket radio then.

After installing an aftermarket CD player in my car the antenna stopped coming up too, even though it's connected. Doesn't bother me any, that thing's huge and hideous. I use the FM transmitter from my Sirius and don't have any sound problems (obviously not as good as when it was directly connected, but still).

There's a plug for the antenna that plugs into the back of the radio. You must of forgotten to plug it back into your aftermarket radio or loose enough to fall out.

You can't miss it, its round and shinny and hanging on the left side on the center console (drivers)

^ Haha yeah I know I checked it the other day and it was plugged in. I think I am going to tear it out this weekend and re-check all the wires and plugs.

I just re-read your original post.

If the antenna isn't rising, then it's not getting ANY power. You must have a wire installed incorrectly. It happens.
