So what are the benefits of a front strut bar? I was searching but didn't have any luck. Does the handling just become better?

front strut bars help with oversteer mostly. but it just tightens up the front strut towers from some of the stamp steel flex

depends. some are adjustable making them easier to put on. some are a bit more hard.

I agree, I gained aprox. 4.5 HP from mine.

Ben's right, they don't do much to help the average car with anything.

Granted, some of the fancier ones (like that FHI carbon/titanium one...yum:grin:) can set off the engine bay pretty nicely...but yeah.

Easiest install ever, however the results are not huge. All this does is connect the two strut towers and is supposed to help reduce body roll and help wit turn-in, but speaking from experience take care of the stuff underneath it before worrying about the strut tower bar, in most cases it's just gonna end up being another piece of bling for the engine bay.
If you have a relatively built suspension and push your car to the extremes then it might be worth getting one of the ones for the GC (like $40) and throw it on there, no reason in getting too spendy on this guy. (unless your like me and find a good deal on a JDM cusco one)

The effect will vary from car to car. When I installed them on my 97 Pont GP the effect was immediately felt. Much more stable.

But when installed on my 87 300ZX, the effect was not as dramatic. Although it did help.

The amount of strut tower flex varies from car to car. When You load up the suspension during a high speed corner and then hit a bump, You'll notice the difference immediately.

The effect is almost the same as reducing unsprung weight. Like mounting lighter wheels. You won't notice it right away. But, get into a tight corner and You'll feel the difference.

When I mounted Alcoa Al wheels on my 93 F250 Diesel, I could feel the difference before I got out of the driveway. The wheels weighed 8 lbs lighter than the stock steelies.

I hope it all works out because two weeks ago I low-balled bidded on a generic front brace for the Legacy. Turns out, I won the brace for 50 bucks. I didn't think I was going to, a bunch of people bid on the thing and it had a week left. I just put my bid in and it never moved again.
Logged in to find that MAF sensor today and I had a message wanting me to pay for what I won.

Oh well.. what the hell, why not.

Well I'll see what lower profile tires do in the spring, cuz right now my handling sucks. :lol: It's definitely because of the winter tires that are mounted right now. Night and day difference from the summer tires for obvious reasons.

i have a strut bar and my car has a serious understeer...the back end doesnt kick out much its just my front tires turned and my car continuing its path straight when i slide in dirt

sometimes it works quite nicely though on the road kids i go to school with try to play games and show off on twisty turns and their all over the road...i stay in my lane going up on their bumper and yawning

A strut brace does NOT change your suspension geometry - therefore if your car has serious understeer it is NOT as a result of the strut brace. The only way to change that is to modify your suspension...not your bracing.

Further, you have an automatic - try putting it in D3 while in dirt, snow, and see how the back end will rotate on a power-over throttle steer.
