I just bought a 98 legacy wagon L AWD with the 2.2l. it only has 73k miles. i was at the drive thru today and when my window was down i noticed a ticking that sounded like a sticky lifter. When i rolled up the window i couldnt hear it. I was wondering if it was normal, or anyone else has had it. I did read the ticking noise solved in the stickys, but it was not the same because he had a 96, and 96 was the last year a that part was used from the factory.

Are there lifters in these cars. I dont know much about the verticle cylinders, but from what i have heard, these motors are built very well, and last a long time. Any help would be nice, i am new to subarus, but am already liking it. Even though it doesnt have cup holders.
